pages of poison oak
ordered numerical
opaque unless
opened and read
in context of
whatever i've become
what life held
on a bookshelf
and every book on that shelf
is a tale my life will tell
all i know is it starts and it ends
and every step that i take
is a footprint on display that just
can't be erased
and i can't make sense of it
turn the page
and watch me walk away
on a paper trail
from where everything stays
the same
worn to the spine i take
measure to illustrate
how wide my view
may it relate to you
in sequence of
what we've become.

Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long. This album is a whole experience, every song is perfect, the lyrics, the instrumentation, the slow quiet parts hit just as much as the loud upbeat parts. I love this album so much. okmadrock
Terry Venemous is releasing new music every 3 weeks this year. His latest EP is sumptuous art pop with a wry sense of detachment.
